Biography
Carla Spalding is an American patriot who moved to the United States from Kingston Jamaica at the age of 18. As a proud American citizen, Carla epitomizes the essence of what makes this country great! Carla is a woman who wears many hats. She is a veteran, registered nurse, college professor, and above all, an American who loves this country. Her life experiences illustrate her passion to serve others and her desire to better the future of the people around her. Despite differences, experiences, and challenges Carla believes it is our American spirit that allows us to endure any circumstance and prosper. She is known for her commitment and dedication to helping others and making a tangible difference in people’s lives. She proudly served in the United States Navy and later earned a master’s degree in Nursing with a specialty in education. She is a mental health professor, pediatric professor, and a former nurse at the Veteran’s Administration Regional Medical Center. Carla is also a published author, a College Advisory Curriculum Board member, a former Associate Director of Nursing, and a former Council Secretary for the Salvation Army in South Florida. Before leaving the VA Regional Medical Center, Spalding was honored as Nurse of the Year in 2013 in recognition of her hard work and dedication in her service to our veterans.

Carla Spalding is running for Congress against Jared Moskowitz to propose laws that will support our veterans, military, children, environment, better health care, and will protect the elderly. Our comunities in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Pompano Beach, Margate, Parkland, Coral Springs, Lighthouse Point, Oakland Park, Las Olas, and Coconut Creek deserve a leader with resolve and integrity.

Parental liberty is under attack. The freedom to buy and bear arms is under relentless assault. Freedom of speech is being suppressed.
During the pandemic, Democrats nationwide advocated for and put into effect lockdowns. During these lockdowns, no one could work, operate their business, worship God by attending religious services, or even step out of their homes. Our freedom, our principles, our flag, and love for our country are under attack. We need to return to our core values and promote love and patriotism, not hate and division.

We must continue to cut taxes and needless regulations to encourage economic growth and help working people and their families. Biden’s legislative agenda includes 30 tax hikes that would eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs and shrink wages by 0.8%. The Left’s economic plan, led by my opponent, has this administration creating the highest inflation in decades, lowest paying jobs, and the least amount of American energy production, not to mention the fact they led us into a national recession!

The inflation rate today is the highest it’s been in over 40 years! The only way the American people will take control of the inflationary crisis is to take charge of who is leading this district. This Congressional seat is a critical vote and my opponent is rubber stamp for more failing Biden/Democrat policies, which enabled the reckless spending of over 10 trillion dollars in the first 6-8 months of this Congress. That was the cause of the inflationary crisis, and the only way to END this crisis is to VOTE OUT the people who caused and continue to exacerbate it today.
You’d think that once they realized they developed this crisis, they would work to fix it, but instead they DOUBLED DOWN!
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office released a highly esteemed report warning that the Inflation Reduction Act would NOT reduce inflation at all, in fact, the Inflation Reduction Act did the OPPOSITE! It imposed a GAS tax on the American people during the highest gas prices in our history. It RAISED taxes to new unaffordable levels for the middle class. It funded an ARMED army of 87,000 IRS agents to shake down hard-working Americans’ and small businesses for every hard-earned dollar we have in order to support their radical agenda.
Elderly and working people can no longer afford homeowners insurance. Soaring prices are out of control. Eventually people will begin losing their homes, leading to a much larger crisis. My policies will save Floridians money, not take money from them until they’re in debt and struggling to put food on the table for themselves and their families.

We need to put a STOP to the WOKE indoctrination of our military and restore the focus to issues of warfare, training, and intelligence.

Our brave police need MORE funding to better handle the demand of ever-increasing crime, conflicts in our schools, Americans with mental health issues or disabilities, and organized crime, such as MS13. Defunding the police means more crime, fewer resources available to our community, and more of a wait time for first responders to get to those in need at critical and dangerous times. This isn’t a controversial take, it’s essential common sense and requires a bipartisan approach to solve a significant community issue. We need improved police training to fit the needs of all our communities, including the black community, and we urgently need to tackle disastrous sanctuary city policies, gang violence, human/child sex trafficking, and theft.
Government, for the past three decades, has been grievously irresponsible with the way it spends OUR hard-earned tax dollars. We need to unleash the power of American industries, starting with drilling, fracking, and end the shaming of manufacturing good old-fashioned coal! This will lower energy prices, increase GDP, create thousands of high-paying jobs, and restore American energy independence. From this, we can spend less on importing oil and gas and more on training our workforce to be best equipped to tackle the needs of today. We need to bring back manufacturing jobs, ensuring that the goods, medications, and cars we buy are MADE IN AMERICA! This will lead to hundreds of thousands of jobs and provide employment stability nationwide.

As a professor, I speak on this issue with a perspective and level of experience my primary opponents Robert Weinroth and Darlene Swaffar do not.
